US temporarily lifts sanctions on Iranian oil for 30 days

In an unusual move, and amid Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the US has temporarily lifted sanctions on oil exported by the Islamic Republic. For 30 days, shipments and trade of crude oil and its products originating from Iran will be permitted, according to the US Treasury Department.
