Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and said that "the continued Israeli occupation of five hills, the attacks and the non-release of Lebanese prisoners make it difficult for the state to expand its authority, protect citizens and implement its decisions. This includes the monopoly on weapons." According to him, "The number of soldiers in southern Lebanon will reach 10,000, and there will be no armed force there except the legitimate forces of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL."
