Annual heat record: 45.1 degrees measured at the Dead Sea

The highest temperature in Israel this year was recorded at the Sodom station on the shores of the Dead Sea, where temperatures reached 45.1 degrees Celsius. This is 0.3 degrees higher than the previous heat record recorded this year. Exactly six years ago today, on July 17, 2019, the temperature record in Sodom was broken, reaching 49.9 degrees.
