The Shin Bet is involved in investigating the arson at a military facility in the West Bank last night, where equipment intended to assist in thwarting terrorist attacks was destroyed, valued at approximately three million shekels. On Saturday evening, additional riots were recorded in the Kafr Malik area near Ramallah, during which a battalion commander was attacked – at that time the Shin Bet was not involved in the investigation. The Shin Bet's involvement is limited to investigating the arson of the security facility only, and not the other incidents – including riots in the Benjamin Brigade area and an attempt to break into a base – following the new government policy which categorizes these as criminal acts under police responsibility.
