Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the Education Ministry's plan for a gradual return to in-person learning in pods, kindergartens and schools, starting this Sunday, subject to a Home Front Command decision to be made after the holiday. As part of the emerging framework, the Home Front Command proposed that in communities defined as 'orange zones,' learning will take place only in protected spaces. Either way, Netanyahu rejected Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's proposal, which promoted the option of declaring a vacation and making up the school days during summer break.
