Transportation Minister Miri Regev said about the transportation chaos on the railway that "an external investigation committee has been established and it will examine all systemic and personal issues. If we find that there was negligence, people will have to pay for it." Regev added that "this is a serious malfunction, a serious incident that needs to be thoroughly investigated. There are those who are trying to exploit this safety incident for petty politics, so I suggest everyone stop dealing with politics. The malfunction should not have happened, but it did happen - and we are dealing with it."
