Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yashar! party, pledged at a party event attended by thousands that "on the government's first day, we will establish a state commission of inquiry, within a week of its establishment we will form a national cabinet to combat crime and begin legislating a universal service law, within eighteen months of my taking office, the Hamas terror organization will no longer rule Gaza." He added: "Anyone who thinks our Israel will survive another four years like these is living in a dangerous delusion. If we continue on a path of evasion, failure, catastrophe and lies, Israel will very soon cease to be the country we know."
