Liberman to attorney general: investigate Netanyahu on suspicion of treason

|
Yisrael Beiteinu party leader Avigdor Liberman appealed to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara with a demand to open a criminal investigation against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Liberman claimed in his letter that Netanyahu's actions constitute "treason against the state, its security and IDF soldiers." He further wrote: "In the past month, Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has been pressuring security officials to take steps that could create a miscalculation with Iran. The attempt to drag the State of Israel into war on the eve of elections, together with a willingness to sacrifice IDF soldiers solely due to fear of losing the election, is treason."
