Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi presented a new reform in television and radio broadcasting, which will include changes to channel package models and payment based on content each viewer chooses to watch, significantly reducing costs for consumers. Additionally, sports broadcasts will no longer be exclusive, and barriers to launching new channels will be eased to increase competition in the communications market. Furthermore, the proposed law stipulates that the Cable and Satellite Council will be closed, and a new council appointed by the communications minister will be established to oversee the channels.
