Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shibani welcomed on social media platform X the lifting of American sanctions by President Donald Trump: "We welcome the removal of most sanctions imposed on Syria, according to President Trump's historic executive order. This decision represents a significant turning point that will help move Syria toward a new phase of prosperity, stability and openness to the international community. By removing this main obstacle, doors will open for reconstruction and development, providing the necessary conditions for the dignified and safe return of Syrian displaced persons to their homeland."
