Austria's Interior Minister Gerhard Karner announced that the shooter at the high school in Graz is a former student, 21, who failed to complete his studies at the educational institution. Austrian police reported that the shooter is a citizen of the country who carried out his actions using two weapons, which he possessed legally. Nine people were murdered in the incident - six girls and three boys - and 12 others were injured. The shooter took his own life in a bathroom stall at the school, and Austrian media reported that he had suffered from bullying when he attended the school. Austrian Chancellor Christian Stöcker declared three days of mourning in the country.
