Tzach Bergerson, a 36-year-old reservist and entrepreneur of a startup called SkyHoop, has developed a device based on mobile phone technology designed to warn combatants in the field about aerial threats, such as drones. Bergerson, like many reservists, combined his military experience with his civilian expertise to develop the technology. According to Israeli organization Startup Nation Central, which tracks innovation in the country, more than a third of the defense startups registered with them were founded after the October 7 massacre.
