Beirut report: If U.S. attacks Iran 'Lebanon will not remain outside the line of fire'

|
The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that senior Lebanese security officials are concerned about a possible escalation along the border with Syria if the United States carries out its threat to attack Iran. The officials claimed the concerns are based on data indicating that Lebanon "could once again become an arena for settling regional and international accounts," and that in the event of war with Iran, "Lebanon will not remain outside the line of fire," but will be a direct target for security, military and political pressure. The report also claimed there is a possibility that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa would be interested in acting against Hezbollah in coordination with Israel.
