Israel and Lebanon to resume talks in Rome: 'If Hezbollah stays, we stay too'

|
Israel and Lebanon will hold their sixth round of talks in Rome on Tuesday and Wednesday. The discussions will take place at the ambassadorial level in the U.S., with Israel represented by Yechiel Leiter and Lebanon represented by Nada Maawad. Leiter said in an interview with CBS that Israel, U.S. Central Command and the Lebanese army are currently preparing the conditions for activating two "pilot zones" in southern Lebanon, from which the IDF will withdraw. According to him, "If the pilot zones are open to accepting the responsibility of the Lebanese army, we can move forward. If Hezbollah remains there, we will remain in our positions."
