The mother of Staff Sgt. Maayan Baruch Perlstein, who was killed in the APC disaster yesterday in Khan Yunis, said that her son and his crew had warned they did not feel protected in the outdated vehicle. In an interview with Ynet studio, she added: "There was some Zoom call with the new battalion commander, and they talked to him about the need to replace the outdated APCs, and he said they were working on it." When asked if the soldiers knew they weren't sufficiently protected, she responded that "it was something that was discussed, they knew they weren't sufficiently protected."
