Children and teenagers from Jerusalem area suspected of weapons trafficking: 'Want to be arms dealer'

|
32 suspects, including children and teenagers aged 10-15, were arrested in the Jerusalem area on suspicion of weapons trafficking, as part of a covert investigation conducted by police for about a year using an undercover agent. The agent carried out dozens of weapons deals in the Jerusalem area and other regions, purchasing pistols, rifles, explosive charges and ammunition worth tens of thousands of shekels. Police are also investigating whether some of the weapons were intended for terrorism. During one transaction, the agent met with a 10-year-old child who showed him his "personal pistol" and said that when he grows up he wants to be an "arms dealer." The suspects will be brought to court today for a detention extension hearing.
