Police Commissioner Dani Levi emphasized that he has no intention of dismissing Tel Aviv District Commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Sargrof. This follows reports that National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is considering removing Sargrof after he declared in a letter to his subordinates: "We will continue to stand at the forefront of defending the rule of law and Israeli democracy." Police sources said he is even "going to battle with Ben Gvir" over the incident. In a message delivered to the senior command staff of the police, the commissioner wrote: "I have known Haim for many years and am confident that he will continue to lead the district to many successes, with emphasis on fighting crime and serving the citizens of the state."
