Netanyahu plans to advance legislation on 'No Other Land': citizenship revocation and defamation for maligning IDF soldiers

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed again the film 'No Other Land' by Israeli creators Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. He said he would advance legislation on the matter, adding: 'We will revoke citizenship from anyone who maligns IDF soldiers in the world - we will hurt them deep in the pocket.' During the Knesset recess, Netanyahu intends to advance two government bills concerning the defamation of IDF soldiers and the State of Israel. The first proposal, to be submitted through Justice Minister Levin, will multiply the amount of a defamation claim without proof of damage by 20 to one million shekels. The second proposal, to be submitted through the Interior Ministry, will establish citizenship revocation for anyone who spreads defamation about IDF soldiers and the State of Israel in the world.
