A 35-year-old Israeli tourist was released on bail of 10,000 euros after being arrested on suspicion of causing a forest fire in the Selia area of Rethymno province in southern Crete. Greek authorities suspect the fire broke out as a result of using a barbecue grill. According to reports in the Greek media, the grill was lit in the yard of a rented villa, even though at the time lighting fires outside buildings was banned in the area due to a high risk of fires breaking out in the region.
