An elderly woman in her 80s was pronounced dead following a gas balloon explosion in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City. Another man in his 50s was seriously injured and was evacuated by Magen David Adom crews to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in the city. Fire and Rescue Services reported that an initial investigation revealed that "the source of the incident is most likely a gas leak from the kitchen area of one of the apartments, which reached explosive levels and caused the explosion."
