Foreign Minister Gideon Saar departed for a visit to the European Union in Brussels, at the invitation of EU Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas and EU Mediterranean Commissioner Dubravka Šuica. This was stated in a Foreign Ministry announcement, which added that the minister will participate in a ministerial meeting between the European Union and neighboring countries from the Middle East and North Africa. Saar's visit takes place under the shadow of a discussion by the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) regarding Israel, which will examine allegations of violations of international law in the Gaza war. This follows a previous discussion in which no decision was made to suspend the Association Agreement with Israel.
