UAE officials define Fly Dubai plane attack attempt as 'act of terror' for first time

|
Anwar Gargash, adviser to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed, praised Captain Sumit Makhija, the Indian pilot who was stabbed during the attempted attack on the Fly Dubai flight. "The Fly Dubai pilot deserves full appreciation. In the face of a severe terrorist threat and a potential disaster, he embodied the true meaning of courage and responsibility. Without resorting to interpretations or promoting conspiracy theories, vigilance and caution remain essential in dealing with the dangers of extremism and terrorism," Gargash wrote on social media platform X. This marks the first time UAE officials have defined the incident as an 'act of terror.'
