Security forces arrested Palestinian-American journalist Naqaa Hamed, a correspondent for the Iranian channel Press TV. According to Palestinian and Iranian reports, the arrest was carried out at an improvised checkpoint set up near Tekoa, southeast of Bethlehem, against the backdrop of "a series of direct attacks on the journalist by settlers in recent weeks." It was also noted that she "was a target of an incitement campaign in Israel following her coverage of events in the village of Qusra." IDF sources said there are criminal charges against her for collaboration with the enemy, and possibly also suspicion of espionage.
