Attorney General opposes Karai's Broadcasting Bill: 'Harms free press'

|
In the shadow of the government's approval of her dismissal, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara published a legal opinion against Communications Minister Shlomo Karai's media law. She wrote that "the Broadcasting Bill harms free media and is being advanced in violation of the law. The legislature imposed an obligation on the Ministry of Communications to conduct professional consultations before promoting comprehensive changes in the communications market, and even this basic obligation was not fulfilled."
