The Gaza Strip Peace Council has issued its first construction contract for a project to establish a military outpost that will house 150 personnel, for troops coming from Morocco. This was stated by a source involved in the details to the British Guardian. The contract, which has not yet been finalized, was awarded to the company "Arkel International," which has previously performed work for the U.S. administration in countries such as Iraq. The planned base will be only 100 by 120 meters in size and is intended to house a unit of Moroccan soldiers who will rotate from a base in Israel, the source who spoke to the Guardian noted. According to him, the base will be established in the Strip in an area under Israeli control, about 1.6 kilometers from it, and will have a "rapid evacuation route" in case the smaller force is attacked.
