A German court sentenced four men to between four and six years in prison for belonging to an underground cell linked to Hamas and convicted of planning future attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in Europe. According to the verdict by the Berlin appeals court, the four acted as foreign agents of Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, and stockpiled weapons in several European countries. Among the targets examined: the Israeli embassy in Berlin, the U.S. Ramstein Air Base and the old Tempelhof Airport area in the city. In addition, weapons caches were located in other countries including Poland, Bulgaria and Denmark. The four terrorists were born in Lebanon. They were arrested in December 2023 and have been in custody since. Despite the conviction, the four denied their affiliation with Hamas.
