According to the initial assessment by firefighters, the fire in the recycling bin in Beitar Illit may have broken out following a game played by children, during which the recycling container was set on fire and a canister was thrown inside, which may have exploded as a result of the fire. As a result of the explosion, a burning object flew from the recycling container and hit a child who was leaving the Torah study hall on Nadvorna Street. The firefighters explained that in waste fires they sometimes encounter explosions of aerosol canisters as a result of the heat, but emphasized that at this stage it is not yet possible to determine if this is what occurred in the current case.
