Israel Railways spokesperson announced that due to infrastructure work, there will be changes to train service to the southern region during the weekend and Saturday night. Trains on the Be'er Sheva-Herzliya line (Western Negev line) will operate in split format: between Be'er Sheva and Ashkelon stations, and between Ashdod and Herzliya stations. Continuous travel from Western Negev and Ashkelon stations to the Tel Aviv and central areas will not be possible; trains on the Ashkelon-Binyamina line will begin and end their journey at Ashdod Ad-Halom Metropol station and will not stop at Ashkelon station; the line to Be'er Sheva via Lod, Kiryat Gat and Lehavim-Rahat stations will operate as usual. It was also reported that "Israel Railways will operate a shuttle service at no cost" and that "train service will return to normal on Sunday, June 7, with the resumption of service."
