American military and intelligence officials have identified signs that pro-Iranian militias are preparing to attack American bases in Iraq, and possibly also in Syria, in retaliation for American strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities. This was reported in the New York Times, and an American official told the newspaper that so far the militias have refrained from doing so - and that government officials in Iraq are trying to dissuade them from carrying out the retaliatory attack.
