IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said at the Chief of Staff's Excellence Award ceremony for 2026 that "the responsibility for the security of Israeli citizens rests on our shoulders - ours alone. Throughout the ongoing campaign, the IDF has repeatedly demonstrated its strength, its operational superiority and its ability to operate in close multi-arm cooperation to defend the State of Israel. We are not only fighting the wars of the past, but building the army of the future."
