Transportation Minister Miri Regev has decided to freeze talks on establishing a permanent operational base in Israel for low-cost giant Wizz Air, after the company has yet to resume its flights to Ben Gurion Airport. In a conversation with Ynet, Regev said that despite the desire to promote the establishment of low-cost carrier bases in Israel in order to increase competition and lower prices, the Hungarian company's failure to return to operations is forcing the Transportation Ministry to halt the discussions on this matter at this stage. Regev emphasized that her ministry is in talks with other low-cost carriers.
