State Comptroller's report during Iran war: Ethiopians denied shelter access by ultra-Orthodox extremists

|
State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman's report on home front management during the war with Iran addressed complaints regarding bomb shelters. The report noted a case where a member of the Ethiopian community complained on behalf of several families in Jerusalem that ultra-Orthodox extremists prevented them from entering a shelter. The ombudsman also received complaints about deficiencies in shared shelters or private individuals taking over shelters. A Kiryat Motzkin resident complained that the shared shelter where she stays during alerts is cluttered with objects, reducing its usable space. The ombudsman contacted the municipality about the issue, and the objects were removed that same day.
