Soldier forgotten for 40 minutes in Samaria, three fighters imprisoned; company commander to face disciplinary meeting

|
A soldier in an IDF special unit was forgotten last week for about 40 minutes in a house in Qabatiya, northern Samaria, during an operational activity. The IDF spokesperson said that a force left one location to move to another without the soldier, who later joined a different force. In an investigation conducted by the unit commander and the Commando Brigade commander, it was revealed that the soldier was forgotten after receiving an incorrect report that all fighters were present in the team. The investigation determined this was a serious incident. A squad commander and two soldiers involved in the incident were sentenced to detention, as well as the team commander, and the platoon commander will be summoned for a disciplinary meeting with the commander of the 98th Division.
