Israel Fire and Rescue Services Commissioner Chief Superintendent Eyal Kaspi extended the ban on lighting fires in open areas until Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at midnight. Chief Superintendent Kaspi signed the order due to "extreme conditions that increase the likelihood of fires" throughout Israel, except for the area south of Roads 25 and 34 in the southern part of the country, from Yad Mordechai Road, through Nahal Oz and up to Arava Junction. It was also announced that technical work creating ignition or fire will be carried out in accordance with the order's instructions and that lighting a fire in a designated facility for preparing or heating food, such as a barbecue grill, is permitted.
