IDF examining discharge of reserve soldiers with mental disability percentages - including those with PTSD

|
The IDF is examining the continued reserve service of soldiers with significant emotional disabilities - including those with PTSD. This was revealed to ynet. The soldiers, who are recognized with more than 30 percent disability for mental health conditions, will also be required to meet with a mental health officer who will determine if they are fit to continue active service or if they will be removed from the reserve roster. The decision was made by the military about three weeks ago, following months of staff work by the IDF and Ministry of Defense, and the process itself began late last week. The IDF insists that the decision is not related to the spike in suicide cases.
