October 7 victims and relatives sue Meta: Broadcast Hamas attack atrocities live

Lior El-Hai, Roy Rubinstein|
October 7 victims, their families, and Facebook and Instagram users have filed a request at the Tel Aviv District Court for approval of a class action lawsuit worth more than 4 billion shekels against Meta, the parent company of these social networks - for its role in the Hamas attack in October 2023. The grounds for the lawsuit are the broadcasting of atrocity videos live on Facebook on October 7, and that some of the plaintiffs discovered their relatives were murdered and kidnapped through broadcasts on Facebook and Instagram.
