European leaders, whom U.S. President Donald Trump threatened with tariffs, published a joint statement emphasizing that they "express full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the residents of Greenland." The leaders added that the military exercise, involving soldiers from several European armies in Greenland, "does not pose a threat to anyone." The statement was signed by the leaders of Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Britain.
