National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi announced that Prime Minister Netanyahu has informed him of his intention to appoint a replacement. Hanegbi added: "In light of this, my term in office will end today. I thanked the Prime Minister for the privilege I had to be part of shaping Israel's foreign and security policy during challenging years, for the opportunity to express an independent position in sensitive discussions and for the professional dialogue we maintained even during disagreements." Hanegbi added: "The terrible failure on October 7, which I share responsibility for, must be thoroughly investigated."
