Three weeks after the Health Ministry shut down the private Medica Tel Aviv Hospital in Ramat Hahayal following the discovery of serious negligence, the hospital's CEO, Anat Nussbaum, announced her resignation. In a letter she sent to doctors and staff, she wrote that in the coming days, Dr. Eitan Hai-Am (73), who previously served as director-general of the Health Ministry, will assume the position. The Health Ministry's findings indicated, among other things, that nursing teams performed surgical procedures on-site without legal authority, and the anesthesiologists in two of the rooms were not specialists in anesthesia as required.
