State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman visited Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva, which suffered a direct hit from a ballistic missile, and criticized the government's handling of the home front during the war. He also called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to appoint a coordinating authority to manage home front affairs. Engelman said: "Each falling missile, besides the damage, involves nearly a thousand people evacuated from their homes. More than 5,000 people have been evacuated and we're witnessing that government work is characterized by incompetence, similar to the treatment of evacuees from the Gaza envelope after the murderous attack on October 7. It's unacceptable to settle for a grant of 500 shekels."
