The Commissioner for Public Complaints Against State Representatives, retired judge Prof. Menachem Finkelstein, warned that Government Legal Advisor Gali Baharav-Miara is "dragging her feet" regarding the decision to renew the criminal investigation against those involved in the 2021 Mount Meron disaster, in which 45 men, teenagers and children were killed. This was revealed to ynet. The commissioner recommended that the advisor expedite her decision out of concern that criminal evidence may not be admissible and due to statute of limitations concerns. Finkelstein reiterated that this is "an unprecedented major disaster in its scope, requiring thorough and fundamental treatment."
