Kfar Aza kibbutz addressed the cabinet's decision to take control of Gaza, stating that "members of the Kfar Aza community are troubled and concerned by the statements of some cabinet members and the emerging decisions which effectively mean abandoning our beloved Gali and Zivi Berman and the rest of the hostages. We will not accept a situation where the State of Israel chooses and openly declares that it is giving up on the hostages, we will not accept this reality and will not remain silent in the face of this moral and ethical failure."
