Lapid to Trump: 'You declared you would be the peace president - and proved you kept your word'

Opposition leader Yair Lapid addressed U.S. President Donald Trump in the Knesset plenum and said: "When you were elected to your position, you declared you would be the 'peace president' - and proved you kept your word." According to Lapid, "The fact that you did not win the Nobel Peace Prize this year is a serious mistake by the committee, but they will have no choice - next year they will be forced to award it to you. You did the unimaginable. We are grateful, but also obligated to take responsibility. The fate of the State of Israel will always be written by the citizens of Israel. Now we must prove that we are worthy of what has been achieved."
