The day after the massacre, when hundreds of murdered and kidnapped were already known, Abu Shehadeh defined the Hamas attack as 'a militarily, politically and strategically important historical event' - these things cannot be erased with a clarification post almost three years later." It was also stated that "Abu Shehadeh's belated clarification does not erase what he wrote in real time. Now, when his candidacy is being tested, he declares that he did not support the massacre." This is a declarative support, as the party has no representation on the Central Elections Committee.
