The Water Authority and Health Ministry have launched an investigation into a report of a "localized incident" of fish deaths in the area of Kibbutz Ma'agan in the southern Sea of Galilee. Upon receiving the report, teams from the Health Ministry, Water Authority and Mekorot water company arrived and conducted sampling of fish and water from several points. The samples were transferred to Mekorot laboratories and the Kinneret Limnological Laboratory for comprehensive tests to determine the cause of death and examine water quality. Professional authorities are conducting situation assessments and as of now there are no restrictions on the use of drinking water or bathing in the lake.
