Degel HaTorah chairman MK Moshe Gafni responded to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara's announcement regarding stricter measures against draft evaders, stating: "Baharav-Miara has declared herself a chief fighter against the Torah world, Torah scholars and those who sustain the Jewish people. We will not allow a single yeshiva student to be prevented from studying Torah or to stop his studies. The Jewish people are well-versed in historical attempts, both recent and distant, to prevent Torah study, and their end is well-known."
