Rubio: We won't accept Iranian sovereignty over Strait of Hormuz, war will end in weeks

|
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave an interview to the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera and said the U.S. will not agree to accept Tehran's demand for 'sovereignty' over the Strait of Hormuz. He also promised the war will end within weeks, not months. "Recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is unacceptable to us. It sets a dangerous precedent allowing countries to seize international waterways," he said. "The Strait of Hormuz will reopen one way or another after the operation in Iran ends. If it chooses to close the Strait of Hormuz after the military operation ends, it will face severe consequences," he added.
