Religious Zionism: 'We will only vote for a law that brings real and rapid ultra-Orthodox enlistment to IDF'

Amid the controversy over the military service exemption law, the Religious Zionism faction stated that its members will only vote "for a law that brings real and rapid ultra-Orthodox enlistment to the IDF, in order to meet the IDF's needs and reduce the burden on combat soldiers and reservists." Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said during the faction meeting that "the draft conscription bill is just that, a draft. We will not compromise on a law that doesn't bring real change on the ground. It has one purpose: increasing IDF manpower and reducing the burden on reservists. The law is not meant to preserve the government nor to topple it, but simply to bring historic reform and integrate our ultra-Orthodox brothers into the army."
