Lt. Col. (Res.) Erez Yerushalmi will be promoted to the rank of colonel and appointed as the next commander of Brigade 646. In his most recent position, he served as commander of Battalion 8105. After about a decade in which no brigade commanders have served in active reserve appointments, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir seeks to restore a practice that existed in the past and strengthen the position of reserve commanders in the senior command.
