Democrats party chairman Yair Golan said at the opening of his faction meeting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 'is seeking to appoint a Shin Bet chief who is loyal to him rather than to the State of Israel, someone who prefers endless war over freeing 58 hostages.' He noted that 'Zionist and democratic Israel does not wage endless wars. This is the opposite of security. This is a political war designed to give Netanyahu more time in power.' Golan also addressed the military draft law crisis and the ultra-Orthodox issue, saying that 'Netanyahu is selling security and the economy for money. He buys power with money while soldiers and hostages pay in blood.'
